Hello, and welcome to Sage Folk! My name’s Phoebe and I started this small business to make it easier for people to find amazing products from small, sustainable UK brands. Sage Folk is all about offering plastic-free and low-waste alternatives to everyday products, without the need for compromise.
For me, sustainability isn’t just about the materials we use; it’s about the people and the process behind what we buy. That’s why I’ve chosen to work with small, independent UK businesses that handcraft their products with care. I truly believe that supporting independent makers is a more sustainable choice than turning to big companies or mass-produced items. Small businesses don’t tend to overproduce their products, they’re conscious of the materials and ingredients they use and they have a genuine passion for their craft—something I want to champion through Sage Folk.
How Sage Folk Began
Sage Folk began in 2019 after a personal journey to reduce my own single-use plastic consumption. I invested a lot of time, energy and money into trying out lots of different plastic-free and zero-waste products—some of which I loved and some I really didn’t. I wanted to share the fantastic small businesses I’d discovered and help people find more sustainable alternatives to their everyday products. And that’s how Sage Folk was born.
Sage folk {wise people}
The name Sage Folk reflects my ethos of making wise, thoughtful choices. It’s also a nod to my roots (and Sage Folk HQ) in Norfolk.
Why choose Sage Folk:
- I’m very picky about the products and brands I offer and I try them out myself before deciding to stock them. If I don’t love them, I don’t stock them.
- I reuse as much packaging as possible to reduce waste. I’ve only ever had to buy one bulk roll of parcel paper as back up void filler (and it’s still going).
- When you buy from Sage Folk, you’re not just supporting my small biz, you’re supporting all the wonderful independent brands I source my products from.
