Description

Each bar of rosemary and lavender conditioner is handmade in the UK.

The bar contains a soothing blend of lavender and rosemary essential oils to nourish and care for your hair.

Don’t be fooled by its size, this small but rich bar of conditioner contains a concentrate of nourishing ingredients from you hair (without all of the water that can be typically found in plastic bottles of conditioner).

This bar of solid conditioner is packed with cocoa butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E to deeply nourish hair and help prevent split ends.

Contains plant-based BTMS 25, cetearyl  and cetyl alcohol (naturally derived from colza oil and coconut) and help to condition, hydrate and detangle your hair.

The condition, type and texture of your hair will dictate how you should use it. You can use it each time you wash your hair, just like a regular conditioner. Alternatively you may wish to use it ever other wash or once a week as a deep conditioning treatment, or even as a leave in conditioner or solid hair oil if you hair needs a moisture boost.

The blend of rich oils and butters (including coconut oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, almond oil and shea butter) help to nourish and smooth your hair.

This conditioner pairs perfectly with the matching rosemary and lavender shampoo bar, as well as the other scented shampoo bars by Authentic House.

Top tip:

Allow your conditioner bar to air dry between uses to prolong its use.

We recommend keeping it on one of our bamboo soap racks, away from your bath or shower in between uses.

When you come to the end of your bar, leave any small pieces to soak in a cup of water. When ready to use, rub a small amount into your hand to make a conditioning cream and apply as usual – this helps you make the most of your bar and reduces product waste.

Ingredients:

*Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) *Cetyl Alcohol, Cocoa Butter (Theobroma Cocoa), Jojoba Oil (Sodium Jojobate), Vitamin E (tocopherol), Rosemary Oil (Rosmarinus Officalis), Lavender Oil (Lavandula Angustifolia), and Naturally Occurring within the Essential Oils.

*Naturally derived from Colza Oil and Coconut.

Allergens: Linalool, Limonene, Geraniol (naturally occurring in essential oils).

Beautiful smelling lavender & rosemary hair conditioner. However very small considering the price, but I’ve got incredibly long, thick, and at times dry hair so I only need to wash/condition my hair once a week so it may last (I have only used it once so far). I’ve only just started converting to shampoo/conditioner bars, (so I have no comparisons yet) it did take a long time trying to rub the bar through my hair, and I’m not sure I managed to get a good coverage. Once I blow dried my hair, it had like a grease/sticky feeling to it and I’m going to have to wash it again within the next day or so where as I normally only need to once a week. Now this could be down to the conditioner OR I tried another brand shampoo bar, it might have been this product that didn’t cleanse my hair properly. Like I said I’m new to trying some of these natural products, I might just need to do a few trial and errors to find what suits my hair best. I will try a different shampoo bar, and then use this conditioner to see if I have different results.

UPDATE!!! I have returned to adjust my previous comments and to increase my rating from a 3 to a 5. Not long after I left the review I received an email from Phoebe, who took on board all my comments and gave me some great advice and recommendations (not to mention a discount on my next purchase, which wasn’t t necessary but a very lovely gesture and was well received). On Phoebe’s advice I went for the 2in1 shampoo for dry & curly hair, to pair alongside the conditioner. Hand on heart I can say I’m a convert just from one use. The shampoo lather’s really well, my hair smells amazing, it’s super glossy and there’s absolutely no static or frizz (which anyone with waves or curls knows as soon as you take a brush to them, your hair triples in size). Fantastic customer service and products, I will return 😁

Hi J, thanks so much for your honest review. Although the Authentic House conditioner is small, it’s really concentrated so you should find that it lasts you a long time. It can take a little bit of trial and error, especially if you’re new to shampoo and conditioner bars, to find exactly what works best (and is easiest to use) for your hair type.

That greasy/ sticky feeling is not something I’d expect to be coming from the conditioner bar. It sounds to me like you’re using a ‘natural’ shampoo bar (one that most likely doesn’t contain any form of surfactant or cleansing ingredients). Whilst natural shampoo bars can work well for some people, it’s very common for people to experience a residual feeling in their hair immediately after washing with them (almost like there’s a product build up in their hair or it feels like they haven’t washed it at all).

I personally used natural shampoo bars exclusively for over a year and could never consistently get past that residue feeling in my hair, so I switched back to solid shampoo with a surfactant in. I’ve written a post on our blog about which shampoo bars work best in hard water areas – even if you don’t live in a hard water area, you should find the information there useful.

I’d recommend any of the shampoo bars I’ve included in ‘The best shampoo bars for hard water’ section of that post. I’ll drop you an email with a discount code, in case you’d like to try one and do feel free to get in touch if you’d like any help choosing one.

      Phoebe X
